Role Description The Registered Architect will work on a contract, remote basis to support a variety of residential, multi-family, mixed-use, and small commercial projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and refining permit-ready drawing packages, providing architectural guidance on building layouts, codes, and bylaw compliance, and collaborating with the drafting team to ensure accuracy and constructability. The role involves coordinating with engineers, surveyors, and other project stakeholders, as well as advising on design solutions that align with local regulations and client requirements. The architect will also help streamline approval processes, support project documentation, and maintain clear, timely communication with Kingsway Drafting & Design project leads. Qualifications Strong background in Architecture and Architectural Design, with experience in residential, multi-family, and small commercial projects. Demonstrated Project Management skills, including coordinating with consultants, managing timelines, and overseeing deliverables. Familiarity with Software Development and Integration concepts as they relate to design tools, workflows, and interoperability is an asset. Proficiency with architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and digital collaboration platforms. Current registration or licensure as an Architect in a Canadian province; Alberta registration is preferred. Solid understanding of local building codes, zoning bylaws, and permitting processes, especially within Alberta municipalities. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and feedback in a remote, collaborative environment. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently on contract-based assignments and multiple projects concurrently. SHOULD BE LICENSED ARCHITECT (AAA)
