As a Digital Marketing & Content Creator Intern, you’ll play an active role in creating engaging content, supporting digital campaigns, growing online visibility, and helping strengthen brand awareness across multiple platforms.

You’ll collaborate with internal teams to create compelling digital content that supports community engagement, brand storytelling, newsletter and CEDC’s awareness initiatives.

How You’ll Support the Team

In this role, you will create content for digital marketing initiatives and help support marketing programs that promote economic growth and have the following accountabilities:

  • Assist marketing team in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating CEDC’s marketing efforts & initiatives.
  • Assist with creating content including filming, photography, and behind-the-scenes support at various locations around the city.
  • Create engaging written, visual, and video content for blogs, social media, websites, and other CEDC marketing initiatives.
  • Assist with the development of content featuring local entrepreneurs, organizations and stakeholders.
  • Attend community and corporate events to support the team and capture content.
  • Use design templates to create content for digital and traditional marketing assets.
  • Help manage social media by scheduling posts, monitoring activity and responding to comments.
  • Stay up to date on social media trends and online tools.
  • Assist with preparing and sending the monthly CEDC newsletter.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Here’s what will help you succeed as the Digital Marketing & Content Creator Intern:

  • Diploma in marketing, or communications.
  • Demonstrated experience with photography, videography, content editing, and graphic design for digital and social media
  • Knowledge of social media trends, content development, creative marketing, storytelling, and tactics to drive community engagement
  • Knowledge of Thunder Bay’s local business landscape, community activities, and major events within the City
