from current secondary contract teachers for the position of:
Centrally Employed - Secondary****Math
Support Teacher
This is a
one-year term appointment commencing September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027 with an
option of renewal annually.
Required Qualifications:
-
Applicant must have a minimum
of five (5) years successful teaching experience as a member in the OECTA
Secondary bargaining unit;

Proven ability to lead and
motivate collaborative work teams;

Strong communication,
organizational and presentation skills; and
-
Expertise in the areas of math
instruction, differentiated instruction and universal design for learning;

A letter of recommendation from the applicant’s current
principal/supervisor.
The successful candidate will report to the Executive
Superintendent of Student Achievement and a team of Superintendents, and will
work collaboratively with School Principals and Vice-Principals, Program Staff
and secondary classroom teachers. Specific responsibilities include but are not
limited to:

Supporting schools with the
effective implementation of the Ontario Math Curriculum, with an emphasis
on Grade 9 De-streamed Math (MTH1W)

Providing job-embedded, school-based
support to teachers and students;

Providing support to classroom
teachers on the effective use of instructional strategies, resources and
assessment tools in math; and

Facilitating and implementing
system based professional development.
