About the role
Breakfast & Sandwich Section Operator – Independent Contract Opportunity Description An established and well-located café in Toronto is looking for an experienced, responsible and customer-focused food-service professional to develop and operate its breakfast and sandwich section. This is an independent contract and business collaboration opportunity, not a standard hourly employee position. The café provides: An equipped workspace Food-preparation equipment POS system An existing café location and customer base General utilities and operating facilities The operator will be responsible for: Developing a simple and attractive breakfast and sandwich menu Preparing and serving approved menu items Maintaining consistent portion sizes and product quality Managing inventory and minimizing food waste Maintaining cleanliness and food-safety standards Managing any additional staff required for the food section Working consistently during the agreed days and hours Helping increase food sales and café traffic Food ingredients will be purchased by the café according to approved quality standards. The actual cost of ingredients and food packaging used by the food section will be deducted from the section’s sales. The café will continue to operate its coffee, beverage, cake and pastry business. The collaboration will begin with a three-month trial period. Financial terms will be based on an agreed revenue-sharing arrangement. The compensation range shown in this posting is an estimate only and is not guaranteed. Actual operator earnings will depend on food sales, ingredient and packaging costs, and the agreed financial terms. Full details will be discussed privately with shortlisted candidates. Applicants should have relevant experience in cafés, restaurants, breakfast service or sandwich preparation. A valid Food Handler Certificate is strongly preferred. Have you previously managed a menu, food counter or food-service section? Do you have experience with portion control, inventory and food-cost management?
