Senior Financial Reporting Analyst
About the role
Tourmaline Oil Corp. is a Canadian senior crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company. We are focused on long-term growth through an active exploration, development, production and acquisition program in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.
We are currently looking for a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to cover a 12-month Maternity Leave to join our Finance and Financial Reporting Team.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for or assist with the following:
Assist with the quarterly financial reporting process, including (but not limited to) consolidations, lead-sheet preparation, high-level accounting entries, calculation of some of the more complex entries, for example: decommissioning liabilities, depletion, foreign exchange, stock-based compensation Assisting in the preparation of the quarterly financial statements and MD&A Preparation of monthly/quarterly account reconciliations as well as regular internal financial analysis and reporting Assisting with the preparation of the monthly reporting package for management, including variance analysis Provide accounting support to other members of the finance team, including data gathering, analysis, modeling, etc. Ad-hoc financial analysis
Qualifications and Experience
CPA with 3-5 years post designation experience Experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably E&P companies Experience with publicly listed Canadian companies Hard-working and willing to take on challenges Takes initiative when it comes to completing all necessary tasks Able to work in a team environment as well as independently
