Your Opportunity:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) with Cardston Opioid Dependency Treatment (ODT), you will provide evidence-informed, recovery-oriented nursing care to individuals, families, and communities accessing addiction and recovery services. In alignment with Recovery Alberta’s vision and values, you will promote safety, dignity, and person- and family-centered care through an integrated and holistic approach to health and wellness. You will practice to full scope within an interdisciplinary team, utilizing critical thinking, clinical judgment, and the nursing process to support patient recovery, continuity of care, and harm-reduction strategies. This role emphasizes collaboration, advocacy, health promotion, and culturally safe care while upholding Recovery Alberta’s commitment to quality, accountability, and compassionate service delivery.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 - $55.79 per hour. Upon being entered into the register as a Registered Nurse, the rate of pay will be adjusted in accordance with the UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 (https://connect.nurses.ab.ca/home/%2Flearning-and-development%2Flearning-modules%2F) and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (https://courses.nextgenu.org/course/view.php?id=271#section-0)
Additional Required Qualifications:
At least one year experience working with clients with Addictions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of Suicide Prevention, Risk Assessment and Management, Non- Violent Crisis Intervention training. A minimum of three years of relevant clinical experience. Experience in addiction and mental health preferred. Experience using the Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale. Ability to speak Blackfoot is an asset. Knowledge of and previous experience working with Indigenous peoples, particularly Kainaiwa.
