Below are the details of the position: Procurement Operations Manager Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Duration: 12-Month Contract Employment Type: Contract Mode of job: Hybrid Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Procurement Operations Manager to provide interim leadership during a planned leave. This senior-level role will oversee the Procurement Process & Operations function, ensuring operational continuity while driving governance, process excellence, and strategic procurement initiatives. Reporting directly to the VP of Procurement, you will lead three functional areas—Process & Policy, Offshore Operations, and Change Management Enablement—while partnering with senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, IT, Compliance, and the broader business. The ideal candidate is a strategic procurement leader who can operate independently, manage multiple workstreams, and maintain momentum across critical transformation initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the Process & Policy, Offshore Operations, and Change Management teams. Set priorities, remove roadblocks, and ensure strong team performance and engagement. Oversee procurement governance, policies, and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Serve as the escalation point for procurement policy exceptions, waivers, and governance matters. Drive procurement process design, SOP development, work instructions, and future-state operating models. Ensure process alignment with procurement systems and enterprise technology platforms. Oversee offshore procurement operations, ensuring business continuity, SLA adherence, and effective resource capacity. Maintain delivery of strategic Procurement Excellence initiatives and transformation programs. Manage procurement knowledge management, intranet content, policies, training materials, and enablement resources. Support executive leadership by providing updates, risk assessments, and representing Procurement in leadership meetings. Partner with senior stakeholders across Procurement, Finance, Legal, Compliance, IT, and Business Operations. Oversee headcount planning, contingent workforce onboarding, and recruitment activities during the engagement. Required Technical Skills Extensive experience leading Procurement Operations, Procurement Governance, or Procurement Transformation functions. Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional and offshore/shared services teams. Expertise in procurement policy development, governance frameworks, and operational excellence. Experience leading process improvement, SOP creation, and procurement process optimization. Strong program and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives. Experience with enterprise procurement platforms such as: Coupa SAP Ariba Equivalent Source-to-Pay (S2P) platforms Solid understanding of Source-to-Pay (S2P) processes and procurement system configuration. Executive-level stakeholder management and communication skills. Preferred Skills Procurement Centre of Excellence (CoE) experience. Procurement transformation program leadership. ERP implementation or transition experience. Experience supporting enterprise-wide change management initiatives.
