Employment Opportunity # 26-79 SOCIAL WORKER (Mental Health & Addictions), Temporary, Full Time (until March 2027) Addictions Treatment Service (Pembroke site – at MESA Hart Hub) Background The Renfrew Victoria Hospital (RVH) is a fully accredited facility located just 45 minutes west of Ottawa. Part of the Renfrew and Area Health Village, a multi-service regional health community, we support 450 staff with state-of-the-art equipment and offer surgical, medical and complex continuing care as well as an extensive ambulatory care program with over 30,000 emergency and clinic visits per year. Named the ‘Most Welcoming Town 2017’, the Town of Renfrew provides an exceptional quality of life including a thriving business sector with unique shopping exemplified by the town’s historic buildings and specialized shops. The Addictions Treatment Service (ATS) of RVH is seeking a temporary full time Social Worker with experience treating mental health and substance use disorders. This is a contract position located on-site at the MESA Hart Hub, expected to last until March 2027, with possibility of extension. Your role would be to support and connect people to a range of comprehensive treatment and recovery services, in a collaborative network delivering services tailored to local needs.
You will provide therapeutic interventions and addiction/harm reduction supports to patients, based on evidence-based practiced, using a client-centred approach.
This is an in-person (on site) position located in Pembroke. Pay Grid: $43.89/hour
Qualifications/Skills/Experience Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (Master’s Degree of Social Work an asset). Certificate of Registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) is required Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a related position preferred Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Experience providing a range of evidence-based interventions, including solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and motivational interviewing Knowledge and experience in substance use and harm reduction Bilingualism (French/English) is preferred A satisfactory and current Vulnerable Sector Screening check Valid First Aid & CPR certificate or willingness to obtain. Must hold a valid driver’s license for travel within the region when required
