Job Description: The Registered Nurse A is responsible to The Nursing Unit Manager or Director of Nursing. The Registered Nurse A is responsible for maintaining a high standard of patient care in accordance with the vision, mission and philosophy of the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region. As a member of The Nursing Department, The Registered Nurse A has the responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive client centered care.
Human Resources Exemption: No
Experience 3 years acute care nursing including 1 year recent Emergency nursing required Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Current registration with CRNS and current BCLS certitication. Other Education and Training Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or other trauma assessment course desired Required to complete an Adult Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners training Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Required to be SANE certified and maintain that certification Competencies Ability to work in a team environment Capability to lead self: Demonstrates character Sound clinical judgment skills Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice Knowledge and Abilities Participates in continuous quality improvement activities Ability to operate related equipment & carry out the duties of the position Ability to maintain a positive attitude and pleasant manner. Ability to perform technical emergency nursing duties with skill and competence Ability to use compassionate sensitive approach relating to victims & families Ability to identify needs of sexually assaulted patients in a timely manner Committed to own professional growth and development ability to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, families.
