Company Description Drive Happiness is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable, accessible transportation services to older adults across Alberta. By helping older adults maintain mobility, the organization supports their independence and ability to stay engaged in their communities.

Position Summary The Program Coordinator position plays a key role in supporting the delivery, growth, and sustainability of Drive Happiness' Seniors Assisted Transportation Program. This role helps ensure older adults have reliable access to transportation that supports independence and community connection. This position is responsible for coordinating program activities, assisting with client onboarding, supporting volunteer recruitment and retention efforts, maintaining accurate program data, and assisting with community outreach initiatives. The successful candidate is highly organized, relationship-focused, and passionate about helping older adults maintain their independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities Program Coordination Support new client inquiries and onboarding. Maintain accurate client, volunteer, and program data in the database. Assist with program expansion initiatives, including community outreach and stakeholder engagement activities. Support regular reporting of program statistics and outcomes. Identify opportunities to improve program processes and service delivery.

Volunteer Recruitment and Support Contribute to recruitment, screening, onboarding, and retention of volunteers to support program growth and service delivery. Develop and implement creative recruitment strategies to attract new volunteers. Represent Drive Happiness at community events, volunteer fairs, and outreach opportunities. Build positive relationships with volunteers and provide ongoing support to encourage engagement and retention. Coordinate volunteer recognition initiatives and appreciation activities.

Administrative Support Provide administrative support related to program operations and volunteer management. Support ride dispatch activities and scheduling as required. Assist with training volunteers on the use of program databases and software systems. Respond to volunteer inquiries and provide technical support as required.

Qualifications Education Post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of volunteer engagement, recruitment, and retention practices. Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Knowledge of transportation services and community resources is an asset. Understanding of the needs and challenges faced by older adults and individuals with mobility limitations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel. Experience working with databases and data management systems.

Experience One to two years of experience in volunteer recruitment, coordination, community engagement, or a related field. Experience working with seniors, volunteers, or non-profit organizations is considered an asset. Valid Class 5 driver's licence and access to reliable transportation.

Working Conditions This position will be based out of the Edmonton office. Travel is required to support program development and volunteer recruitment activities. Temporary full-time position (37.5 hours per week) for approximately 20 months. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Successful candidates must provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment.
