Soil properties, water movement and seepage, stress distribution in soil
masses, consolidation and settlement, lateral shear stress, slope stability
analysis, shallow foundation design and retaining wall design. Emphasis
will be on the environmental problems with the soil.
Position Requirements
A minimum of a Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree with a P.Eng. designation. Applicants will have related experience appropriate to the content in the course description as listed above. Previous teaching experience at a post secondary educational institution is an asset. Excellent written and oral communication skills and presentation skills. Submission of a one page statement of teaching philosophy as it relates to the course.
