Title: Data/Snowflake Architect Duration: 12 Months Contract Location: Canada (100% remote)

Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior Data Architect with strong experience in Snowflake and Azure to build and maintain scalable data pipelines for an orthodontics/healthcare client. The role involves integrating data from systems such as Cloud 9, OrthoFi, CRM, and other business applications into Snowflake using Azure Data Factory.
Key Responsibilities: Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory. Build and optimize Snowflake data models, SQL transformations, and analytical datasets. Integrate and standardize data from multiple healthcare and business source systems. Develop complex KPIs and business metrics across patient, practice, financial, and marketing data. Develop and maintain transformation models using SQLMesh. Implement data quality, validation, reconciliation, and monitoring processes. Support data governance, metadata, and lineage using Atlan. Monitor pipelines and data workloads using Datadog. Use Terraform/IaC for infrastructure provisioning and management. Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions. Follow security and compliance best practices when working with healthcare data, including PHI/PII and HIPAA requirements. Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
Required Skills Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and advanced SQL. Strong experience with Azure Data Factory and ETL/ELT pipeline development. Experience in data modeling and data warehousing. Experience building complex KPIs and analytical metrics. Experience integrating multiple source systems and handling incremental/CDC data. Familiarity with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code. Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions and CI/CD. Experience with SQLMesh is preferred. Familiarity with Atlan and Datadog is preferred. Healthcare/orthodontics domain experience and knowledge of HIPAA/PHI is a plus.
Preferred Domain Experience Experience working with healthcare or orthodontic systems such as Cloud 9, OrthoFi, PMS, CRM, or similar platforms is highly desirable.
