One-year limited-term Academic Associate position to teach in the Legal Studies programs starting August 1, 2026, and ending July 31, 2027. This position reports to the Dean of the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities. The position is subject to budgetary approval. Responsibilities/Accountabilities: The Academic Associate will teach seven courses in the Legal Studies Program across the Fall, Winter, and Spring/Summer terms. Courses for the 2026-2027 Academic Year may be delivered in-person, online, or via a hybridized format. Each course will be taught in the modality established at time of student registration in June 2026.

The Academic Associate’s primary duties will include preparing, delivering and grading all course material, assignments, quizzes and exams as assigned. They will also be available for consultation with students during and following completion of the course. Duties may include the supervision of teaching assistant(s). Qualifications: The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching with an ability to utilize a technology-enhanced approach to facilitating student learning. Required Skills: A proven commitment to providing innovative and inclusive teaching strategies Evidence of an ability to work in a collaborative environment Excellent communication skills with an ability to maintain effective relationships with a range of faculty, staff and students Required Education: A PhD in Law (or cognate discipline); ABD may also be considered This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the UOIT Faculty Association and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and the UOIT Faculty AssociationUOIT Faculty Association collective agreement may be found on the Human Resources section of our website. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and annual salary increases are administered as per the terms outlined in the collective agreement.
