Passion and enthusiasm for healthcare and our customers’ success Work Term: Fall 2026- September 8th through December 31st (with the possibility of extension up to 8 months) Location: Surrey Distribution Centre, Surrey, BC, CAN - 3330 192 Street (On-Site) Department: Pharmaceutical Distribution Operations Reports To: Director / Manager, Operations About the Role The Supply Chain Engineer & Analyst Intern will support operational excellence initiatives within McKesson Canada’s distribution centre network. This role provides hands-on experience in warehouse operations, supply chain analytics, and process improvement, contributing directly to performance, quality, and efficiency outcomes in a fast-paced pharmaceutical distribution environment. McKesson Canada operates a national distribution network delivering critical medications daily, where accuracy, reliability, and compliance are essential to patient care. What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities) Analyze operational performance data Support the tracking and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, service levels, quality, and inventory accuracy to identify improvement opportunities. Support process improvement initiatives (PDCA / Lean) Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on warehouse flow, picking efficiency, inventory management, and automation optimization. Assist with workforce and labour analysis Evaluate staffing models, shift patterns, and labour utilization to improve operational efficiency and throughput. Contribute to supply chain optimization efforts Analyze inbound/outbound flows, inventory positioning, and order profiles to support network efficiency and customer service levels. Develop dashboards and reporting tools Build and maintain Excel, Power BI, or other reporting tools to provide visibility into operational performance and trends. Conduct root cause analysis Investigate operational issues (e.g., service disruptions, inventory discrepancies, safety incidents) and support corrective action planning. Collaborate cross-functionally Work with operations, quality, transportation, and inventory teams to support key business initiatives and projects. Learning & Exposure End-to-end pharmaceutical distribution operations Warehouse management systems (WMS) and automation KPI management aligned to operational excellence frameworks Exposure to real-world supply chain constraints including compliance, quality, and service delivery Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Systems), Supply Chain, Operations, or related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Excel (required); Power BI or data visualization tools, and SQL considered an asset Interest in logistics, distribution, and process improvement Strong communication and teamwork skills Key Competencies Data-driven decision making Continuous improvement mindset Attention to detail and quality Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment Working Conditions Primarily based in an operational warehouse environment May require time on the floor observing and analyzing processes Standard business hours with flexibility depending on operational needs Why Join McKesson Canada Work in a critical healthcare supply chain supporting patients across Canada Gain hands-on experience in a leading, large-scale distribution environment Contribute to meaningful projects with real operational impact We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
