About the role

We are hiring for this position out of our Calgary office. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

This is for a 6‑month fixed‑term contract, with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent.

About the role:

In this role, you will lead the delivery of Core Banking initiatives by partnering closely with business analysts, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with business priorities, regulatory requirements, and enterprise governance standards. You will drive successful execution of application releases and projects while proactively managing risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations. You will foster a high-performing, collaborative environment built on accountability, continuous improvement, and shared ownership of outcomes, enabling teams to consistently deliver value to the organization.

May require after hours support from time to time for project implementation.

About the day-to-day:

  • Act as a Delivery Manager to lead and oversee a portfolio of projects primarily for the Core Banking domain, with support to Enterprise Applications and QA initiatives as required.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of major and minor releases for core banking applications, ensuring quality, timeliness, and alignment with business priorities.
  • Coordinate and collaborate closely with business analysts, application support teams, and vendors to plan and execute releases, enhancements, and production changes.
  • Present changes and releases at Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, ensuring risks, impacts, and dependencies are clearly communicated.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, and dependencies across the project portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring effective delivery of patches, upgrades, and contractual commitments.
  • Establish and maintain trusted partnerships with business stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities, expectations, and outcomes.
  • Ensure all initiatives comply with regulatory requirements, internal governance, and Enterprise PMO standards.
  • Monitor project delivery performance, provide regular status reporting, and ensure transparency on progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Prioritize initiatives based on business needs, capacity, and regulatory timelines.
  • Manage resource onboarding and offboarding across Core Banking, Enterprise Applications, and QA, ensuring smooth transitions and effective capacity management.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to business analysts and application support staff to ensure adherence to best practices in delivery and collaboration.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture focused on continuous improvement.

About the qualifications:

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in delivery management or project management, preferably within the Canadian banking or financial services sector.
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end delivery of application releases in a complex, vendor-driven environment.
  • Strong experience working with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, application support teams, and external vendors.
  • Hands-on experience with CAB processes, release management, and production change governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, prioritize effectively, and deliver under tight timelines.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) and tools for tracking delivery progress.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across technical and business audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or a related field.
  • Achieved or currently pursuing PMP or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Agile is an asset.

About the work environment:

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

Compensation:

The expected salary for this role is approximately $95,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
