Telegraph Creek is home to the Tahltan First Nation, and you will have the privilege to learn about Tahltan culture and traditions. There are many places to explore and experience adventures within Tahltan Territory. Most residents go fishing, hiking, snowshoeing, canoeing, kayaking, snowmobiling, hunting, quadding, boating, skiing, mountain biking and much more. Telegraph Creek offers a family-oriented lifestyle with affordable living. Tahltan School is a Grade K-12 school with small class sizes. School District 87, Stikine, offers a relocation allowance upon arrival, annual personal travel allowances for the employee and dependents living with them, a substantial professional development package and an excellent benefit package (100% medical, extended health, dental and group health insurance). We also provide modern furnished accommodation at a reasonable rate. The range for the Principal of Tahltan School would be $151,964 to $168,849. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.

We are seeking a school administrator who takes an innovative and student-centered approach to leadership; has strong communication and liaison skills; and who is committed to excellence in education to support school and student growth. We welcome educators who have:
Demonstrated understanding and respect for Indigenous Ways of Knowing, Being and Doing. Successful experience with the integration of First Nations Language and Culture. Commitment to and progress toward Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action related to education. Demonstrated ability to establish respectful relationships with learners, parents, staff, community and First Nations Peoples. A high energy level with personal attributes that include integrity, flexibility, and dedication. Demonstrated excellence as a successful Principal, Vice Principal or District Leader. Experience and knowledge of the B.C. K to 12 curriculum. Thorough understanding of effective assessment and evaluation practices. Knowledge and experience in inclusive education and mental health in schools. A fundamental belief that all learners can achieve at a high level. Demonstrated effective leadership during critical incidents and other stressful conditions. Have knowledge of and experience with training, delivery and leading initiatives pertaining to Trauma Informed Practice in support of students. The knowledge and ability to guide staff and students with differentiated learning strategies. The ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive issues pertaining to students and staff.
All applicants must hold a valid BC teaching certificate and should have completed a Master's degree in Administration; Education Leadership; Curriculum; or another relevant area.
