Restaurant Server

SUMMARY:

Join the prestigious Royal Canadian Yacht Club (RCYC), a year-round private club with City and Island Clubhouses in Toronto, known for exceptional service in Sailing, Food & Beverage, Fitness, and Sports. As a Restaurant Server, you will be part of a professional front-of-house team dedicated to creating refined dining experiences for our Members and guests. This role is ideal for those passionate about hospitality, detail, and teamwork in an upscale, fast-paced environment.

WHAT WE OFFER:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare Greet and serve Members and guests courteously and professionally.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them in the POS system.
  • Deliver meals and drinks promptly, in accordance with RCYC service standards.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of menu offerings, wine lists, and daily specials.
  • Prepare dining areas for service and keep them clean and well-organized throughout shifts.
  • Follow Smart Serve regulations and enforce the Club’s zero-tolerance alcohol policy.
  • Communicate with the kitchen, bar, and other F&B staff to ensure seamless service.
  • Assist in setup and breakdown of Club events as required.
  • Follow Club uniform, grooming, and conduct expectations at all times.
  • Complete closing side duties and assist with overall dining room maintenance.
  • Report to the Manager on Duty at the start, end, and during assigned breaks of each shift.

WHAT YOU BRING?

  • Valid Smart Serve Certification (required).
  • 1+ years of food and beverage serving experience preferred.
  • Friendly, confident demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and professional.
  • Experience with tray handling, table service, and sanitation best practices.
  • Comfortable using POS systems (Jonas is an asset).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Standing and walking for prolonged periods on hard surfaces.
  • Lifting and carrying trays or items up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements.
  • Ability to stay calm and efficient during busy service hours.

HOURS OF WORK:

  • Seasonal position (typically May to October).
  • Full-time or part-time availability required for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Primary location: RCYC Island Clubhouse – accessible via private Club launch at 150 Cherry St.
