About the role
Partner with Aquent to help shape the future of digital banking experiences for one of Canada’s most recognized organizations. This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced Product Designer who enjoys solving complex experience challenges, building scalable design systems, and collaborating across product, research, accessibility, and engineering teams. You’ll play a visible role in modernizing digital banking experiences while helping establish the design standards that will support future products.
What You’ll Do
Design intuitive, customer-centered digital experiences for responsive web banking products. Create polished UI designs from UX concepts, research insights, and product requirements. Partner with Product Managers, UX Designers, Researchers, Accessibility Specialists, and Developers throughout the product lifecycle. Build and expand reusable components within a growing enterprise Design System. Apply Design System components to modernize existing banking experiences. Create prototypes to communicate design direction and validate solutions. Review engineering implementation to ensure pixel-perfect execution. Participate in usability testing and incorporate customer feedback into design iterations. Ensure designs meet accessibility standards and internal governance requirements. Present design rationale to stakeholders and influence product direction through thoughtful recommendations. Leverage AI-enabled design tools where appropriate to improve workflows and accelerate design exploration.
What You’ll Bring
3+ years designing digital products for enterprise organizations, financial services, eCommerce, SaaS, or digital agencies. Expert proficiency with Figma. Strong experience designing responsive web applications. Experience contributing to or maintaining Design Systems and reusable component libraries. Strong understanding of interaction design, usability principles, and accessibility standards (WCAG/AODA). Experience collaborating within Agile product teams. Ability to clearly communicate design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking—not simply polished UI screens.
Nice to Have
Banking or Financial Services experience. Insurance, Wealth Management, Investment, Payments or FinTech experience. Material UI (MUI) component experience. Experience presenting work to senior leadership. AI-assisted design workflow experience (Copilot, Gemini, ChatGPT, Figma AI, etc.). Experience conducting or participating in usability research.
