Job summary

Jealous Fruits is Canada's largest cherry grower and exporter. We supply premium fruit to large Canadian and US retailers and export to Asia, the Middle East and Europe. We require a suitably experienced person to manage the operations of the Receiving and Infeed department of our packing facility located on Hwy 97 North, Kelowna. Duties and responsibilities Manage the Fruit Receiving department of our packing facility. Coordinate delivery of fruit and dispatch of picking equipment with farms, offsite coolstores, and and transport providers. Maintain inventory records of fruit received, and harvest equipment dispatched. Supervise the team of 6-8 Forklift operators including managing shift and task assignment. Oversee department operations according to production schedules and specifications. Work with other members of the plant management team to meet all requirements of the production schedule. Ensure your team’s work is carried out in a safe efficient manner, following all applicable company policy work safe and food safe requirements. Ensure all department equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with all company procedures, maintenance, and legal requirements. Establish high standards and take personal responsibility for the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of work. Maintain department to a satisfactory level of cleanliness and sanitation. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous staff supervision experience. Good command of English accompanied by the ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management. Good communication, planning and organization skills. Be a flexible team player who works well in a busy and demanding environment. Able to work for extended periods of time in a focused, safe, and professional manner and work all shifts as required. Meet all physical requirements demanded by the job. Previous experience with fruit packing line equipment and or operating a forklift is an asset. Working Conditions This is a seasonal role that runs for the duration of our cherry harvest, July to September. Our facility operates 8-16 hours/day 7 days a week. Work shifts can vary from 8-12 hours depending on the harvesting schedule. Remuneration: $28.00-31.00 /hour, actual wage commensurate with experience.
