Job summary
Job Description: Lead interface between the Chief Engineering team and the Product Release Center, primarily responsible for managing system interactions and interfaces between components and subsystems of the Driveline System. Design Systems / Applications Engineer reports to the Chief Engineer for multiple programs. Responsibilities include Driveline System hardware system responsible (integration and system balancing of all EDM gearbox components) Interfacing with individual Design Release Engineers and COEs Manufacturing Suppliers Development Validation Center Schedules hardware system design reviews across PRC and reviews DRE design proposals as required Organize reviews with Virtual Analysis / CAE team and ensures Virtual DVP / Scorecard is completed prior to any prototype hardware orders Manage Driveline System and Interface DFMEA / DRBFM (team) reviews to ensure complete transparency and development of cohesive Design Controls leading to Robust DVP Actions Supports CE & ACE to develop FTE and ER&D/ED&D Cost Roll ups for Minor/MCA/ New Programs Review and approve all change notices ensuring checklists, LL, and EBPs are updated and aligned. Leads Technical Cost Reductions (TCRs) / Value Optimization (VO) effort and alignment working closely with PRC, DVC and VO teams moved from AE responsibilities to align better Represents CE in managing the “lessons learned” document for the program and ensure that TS (Technical Specialist) receive those updates on a timely manner to update the EBPs accordingly Reviews driveline system and applicable component “Validation Completion” status with DVC team periodically & provides update to CE Coordinates DRBTR review and keeper of “follow up items” and decision maker on issuing GIMS for buds of problems Manage CQI and GIMS cross functional task force teams working closely with ACE, create priorities, action plans and track progress, align and update initiatives list On-site 4-5 days at ARDC, 2 times per month MI (U.S) Visit U.S. 2 times per month plus possible travel to Mexico for supplier visits
What you’ll do
Lead the interface between the Chief Engineering team and the Product Release Center to manage system interactions and component integration for Driveline Systems. Oversee hardware design reviews, manage DFMEA/DRBFM processes, and drive technical cost reduction and value optimization efforts.
Requirements
The candidate must be able to manage complex system interfaces and hardware integration for automotive driveline components. Frequent travel to the U.S. and Mexico is required, along with a consistent on-site presence at the ARDC.
