Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee the production of pastry department and work along with Pastry Chef. Order, inventory and store ingredients needed for pastry team and main kitchen Create and prepare pastries, breads and desserts for restaurants and all events. Create and prepare amenities packages including chocolate work and mini sweets. Train new staff, supervise and develop future pastry cook. Assist and supports all kitchen staff by offering advice and direct assistance. Job Requirements: 4 to 5 years previous Pastry Chef de Partie / Pastry Cook experience Previous experience in a hotel/restaurant environment Diploma/Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset (Red Seal, Pastry & Baking) 2 to 3 years previous banquet experience considered an asset Must show creativity, enthusiasm, have high energy levels and be self-motivated Must enjoy a fast paced environment and be a team player Must have proven ability to developing and training staff members Clear ability to solve problems and find solutions Flexible weekly schedule based on the demands of our business level. (May include evening, weekend, holiday and overnight periods as needed This is a full-time position for maternity leave coverage with a competitive salary and eligibility for bonuses upon achieving sales targets. What you’ll do
Oversee the production of the pastry department, including creating desserts, breads, and amenities for restaurants and catered events. Responsible for ordering ingredients, managing inventory, and training and supervising junior pastry staff.
Requirements
Requires 4 to 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef de Partie or Pastry Cook, preferably within a hotel or restaurant environment. A culinary diploma or certification, such as Red Seal, is considered an asset.
