Job summary

Job Purpose As a member of the interdisciplinary team, provides quality patient care within the scope of professional nursing practice. Essential Qualifications Active registration with ANBLPN Current BCLS certification Minimum 1 year recent and direct experience (within last 5 years) would be an asset depending on the department (for example: Mental Health, obstetrical, haemodialysis, medical/surgical, etc.). A combination of relevant work experience and related education training will be considered. Willing to participate in continuing education/certification programs (i.e. breastfeeding certification, non-violent crisis intervention, Periop 101, ASIST, cast application/removal, etc.) as outlined during orientation and onboarding within a defined timeframe. Demonstrated assessment skills and ability to respond to emergent situations and prioritize care. Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to relevant legislation. Good work and attendance record. Ability to perform the duties of the position. Key Responsibilities Patient Care: Prioritizes and delivers care to patients within a collaborative setting, seeking clinical guidance as required. Professionally communicates and consults with all members of the interdisciplinary team. Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients while adhering to professional boundaries. Maintains documentation standards. Provides holistic patient care and therapeutic measures to meet patient care needs Participates in the development of the plan of care in collaboration with the health care team, patients, and family members. Utilizes resources within the hospital and community to meet the health care and educational needs of patients and families. Participates in the orientation of new staff and provides ongoing mentorship. Participates in quality improvement and risk management activities.
