POSITION OVERVIEW The Loader – Stacker contributes to successful operations by ensuring a constant flow of product and supplies through the production line. Communication and initiative are essential skills for this role. SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * Must have prior general experience working successfully in a team environment * Previous warehouse and/or production experience considered an asset * Prior experience operating mobile equipment considered an asset * Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Grade 12 education preferred * Must be able to communicate and work well on a team environment, demonstrating politeness, respect and courtesy in communication and daily interactions * Able to provide clear, concise general instructions for team effectiveness and productivity * Routine decision making which generally follows set standards and procedures * This position is encouraged to independently bring forth innovative ideas and suggestions to improve production and/or the work environment RESPONSIBILITIES Loader * Ensure continuous production by removing stacks of eggs from pallets and placing on to the egg conveyor * Operate the forklift to keep a constant supply of skids of eggs at the loader workstation * Reorganize farm materials (pallets, dividers, and fillers) by stacking onto separate pallets to prepare for the washing room * Communicate verbally with production staff members on problems with the production line Stacker * Ensure continuous production by unloading finished product from the conveyor belt and separating onto skids * Keep accurate count of product when stacking product onto pallets, ensuring product is placed on correct skids * Cut strings and secure finished skids of product * Change date codes on date guns to reflect the current day * Inspect finished product for general appearance and correct code dates * Report product count to machine operators when requested * Ensure packers have enough product/supplies General Duties * Operate mobile equipment if needed (pallet jacks and forklifts) to complete above tasks * Inform immediate Supervisor of any conditions that could affect food safety * Responsible for informing the production team of farm changes * Responsible for materials including the careful operation of mobile equipment and the handling of product. Additionally responsible for maintaining stacks of skids, board, and fillers * Assist co-workers where and when needed P&H Foods Inc. welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
