Job summary

Department: International Education and Development Campus:Barrie Classification: Support Staff Posting Date:August 6, 2026 Salary Range: PB: 4 $17.95 - $23.05 Hours per week: Up to 24 hours per week Status: Part-time (Casual) Effective Date: ASAP to March 31, 2027 Reporting to the Manager, International Partnerships and Development, the incumbent provides transportation to a variety of clients and partners using the college vehicle for travel arrangements made within the international centre. Schedules are based on need. While it is the intent to pre-arrange travel needs and provide adequate notice these positions are on-call without standby pay and may at times receive requests with limited advance notice. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: • Coordinating with international staff to confirm details of travel locations, times and any other specifics required by the staff member making the travel request • Responding to requests made by international staff for travel arrangements in a timely manner • Driving the international van to pick up and drop off delegates / agents / international visitors / staff who require transportation (i.e. airport pick-ups / drop-offs, tours, etc.) • Greeting passengers in a welcoming, professional manner and helping them feel comfortable • Assisting passengers with luggage as necessary • Maintaining communication with the International Office when on a trip • Checking-in before and after every shift to sign out the vehicle key and complete a pre and post vehicle inspection checklist • Keeping the vehicle clean (interior and exterior) at all times • Performing general day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle (i.e. refilling washer fluid as needed, cleaning off snow during the winter season, refueling vehicle after every trip, etc.) • Notifying the manager of any mechanical concerns or day-to–day maintenance that is required (i.e. oil changes, tire pressure, etc.) • Bringing the vehicle in for routine maintenance and snow tire change • Ensuring the vehicle is parked in the designated parking area after each trip QUALIFICATIONS: • A valid “G” Class driver’s license • Previous experience in a similar role safely transporting clients to and from destinations • Experience working with people from a diverse background and English as a Second Language • Must be familiar with major highways and driving routes in and out of the Greater Toronto Area • Must be comfortable driving with numerous passengers (up to 6) and navigating new routes • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to greet passengers in a courteous and professional manner • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to unplanned circumstances (i.e. flight delays resulting in arrival changes, construction / accidents resulting in re-routing, etc.) • Ability to work independently • Available to work non-traditional hours including early morning, evenings, and weekends at times with limited advance notice • Ability to work shifts of varying lengths As part of the selection process, you will be required to provide an acceptable Driver’s Abstract and Driver Acknowledgement form. Requirements
