Fort McKay First Nation (FMFN), located along the banks of the Athabasca River in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo north of Fort McMurray. There are approximately 800 Dene, Cree and Métis community members living in Fort McKay. The FMFN shares a border with the Fort McKay Métis Community and together we call Fort McKay home. The FMFN believes the practice and preservation of our traditional ways of life can occur simultaneously alongside continuous and responsible oil sands development. This philosophy has allowed the FMFN to enhance our community's social and economic conditions through effective partnerships with industry and government. ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a passionate Educator in Cree Language to join our school team. The Cree Language Teacher is responsible for the development and instruction of the Cree language program in Fort McKay. This position will include classroom instruction and the development of Cree language materials and resources. The incumbent will utilize a team-centered approach and work with school staff, parents, students and community members.
