Job Title: Optometrist – Independent Contractor Location: Ridgeway, Ontario Opportunity Type: Contract / Self-Employed Eyes on You Optical Eyes on You Optical is a modern and patient-focused optical dispensary dedicated to providing high quality eyewear and exceptional customer care. Due to increasing patient demand, we are seeking a licensed Optometrist to deliver comprehensive optometry services within our fully established practice on an independent contractor basis. Opportunity Overview This contracting opportunity is ideal for an optometrist looking to practice with professional independence while benefiting from a turn-key clinical environment and a growing patient base. The successful candidate will operate their optometry practice autonomously within our facility with full control over scheduling, professional fees, and scope of care. Exam Lane and Equipment Provided Eyes on You Optical will supply a fully equipped exam lane, including: Digital phoropter Slit lamp biomicroscope Auto refractor Pre-test instrumentation Furnished and professional clinical space All equipment and exam facilities are provided at no additional overhead cost beyond agreed facility rent. Professional Responsibilities The independent contractor optometrist will be responsible for providing: Comprehensive eye examinations Ocular health assessments Prescribing corrective lenses Patient education and treatment recommendations Co-management of surgical or specialty care patients as appropriate Maintaining accurate and compliant patient records Contract Arrangement As an independent contractor, the optometrist will: Be self-employed and maintain full professional autonomy Set and collect their own examination fees Carry their own professional liability insurance Ensure compliance with all College of Optometrists of Ontario regulations and standards Pay agreed-upon daily or monthly facility rent to Eyes on You Optical Manage their own billing and HST obligations where applicable Qualifications Doctor of Optometry degree Licensed and in good standing with the College of Optometrists of Ontario Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care Strong clinical and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively alongside optical staff New graduates are welcome to apply What Eyes on You Optical Offers Established clinical environment with no start-up investment Administrative and reception support Access to a rapidly expanding community Consistent patient flow and referral opportunities Flexible scheduling options Scheduling Availability We are open to discussing preferred days and hours of practice and welcome proposals for part-time or full-time clinic coverage. What you’ll do
