Job Title: Casual Early Childhood Educator | #2166 Location: Vancouver / Richmond Start Date: As soon as possible Term/Status: Casual Hourly Wage: $26.83 - $29.76 + 10.6% in lieu of benefits (valid BC ECE Assistant Certificate) $24.54 - $27.19 + 10.6% in lieu of benefits (valid BC ECE Assistant Certificate) *DDA is a CSSEA employer paying JJEP collective agreement rates; WE funding is not paid above the ECE wage. (2024 rates, ratification of new collective agreement in process) The Role: The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) provides an enriched program for children which meet the needs of the families in the community. The ECE also provides opportunities for children with both typical and special needs to interact on a daily basis. The ECE works in conjunction with the Manager to ensure the needs of the children are met. What We Offer: * On-the-job Training * Educational and training opportunities * Professional development * Community involvement * An inclusive work environment Requirements/Education/Experience: * Completion of BC Early Childhood Educator/Assistant Certification, or currently enrolled in ECE Program, and have ECEA certificate in the interim (2 days minimum availability is required) * Special Needs and/or Under 3 Certification is an asset but not required * Criminal Record Clearance * Medical Clearance * Valid First Aid/CPR * Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification (training provided, if needed) * Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication * Basic computer literacy * Eligible to work in Canada *This position requires union membership. What you’ll do
The Early Childhood Educator delivers an enriched, inclusive, and play-based program for children with typical and special needs. They collaborate with the Manager to ensure the needs of children and families in the community are met.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a BC Early Childhood Educator or Assistant Certification and have valid First Aid/CPR and Criminal Record clearances. Proficiency in English and basic computer literacy are required.
