JOB TITLE: CHILD & YOUTH WORKER | #2227 SERVICE AREA: Early Learning & Youth Services LOCATION: Leisure Challenge (Renfrew-Collingwood) START DATE: August 24, 2026 TERM/STATUS: Permanent Part-Time SCHEDULE/HRS: Monday 13:00 - 18:00; Tuesday to Friday 14:00 - 18:00 // 21 hours per week Part-time during school days, Temporary full-time hours during school breaks (winter, summer, and spring), and professional development days. HOURLY WAGE: $26.43 - $29.26 as per collective agreement (2024 rates, implementation of new collective agreement is in process and new wage rates $28.04 to $31.04 will be implemented once funding is received) Role: The Child & Youth Worker ensures the provision of an enriched leisure program by providing opportunities for learning and skill development for youth with disabilities. The Child & Youth Worker designs educational and recreational activities that promote individual growth. What We Offer: * A fully employer-paid, comprehensive health, and welfare benefits plan * Employee and Family Assistance Plan * Municipal Pension Plan * Educational and training opportunities * On-the-job training * Professional development * Community involvement * An inclusive work environment Requirements/Education/Experience: * Certificate or minimum of 3 years in related studies toward a degree such as Therapeutic Recreation, Leisure Studies, Child Care, Social Sciences, or Education. * Minimum 1 year direct experience with youth in a recreational setting. * Strong interpersonal and team building skills. * Formal training in the area of counselling and behavior management. * Requires physical strength, good balance, mobility and endurance for recreational activities. * Criminal Record Clearance * Medical Clearance * Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract * Unrestricted Class 4 Driver's License or Class 5 Driver's License, and are willing to obtain a Class 4 Unrestricted Driver's License * Valid First Aid/CPR * Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification - training will be provided * Demonstrated competency in English written and verbal communication * Basic computer literacy * Eligible to work in Canada *This position requires Union membership.
