The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the wastewater treatment facility. Reporting to the Environmental Supervisor, this role works cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and environmental teams to maintain compliance, minimize operational disruptions, and drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance. This position is a 6-month opportunities: Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM, 5 days per week What you’ll be doing. Operate and monitor the wastewater treatment plant to ensure safe and efficient performance Monitor FactoryTalk systems continuously, respond to alarms, and take corrective actions as needed Coordinate with hauling contractors for waste removal activities Partner with production and maintenance teams to minimize plant disruptions Maintain housekeeping standards in laboratory and operational areas Communicate emergency or urgent repair needs clearly and effectively Participate in team discussions and contribute to operational decision-making Follow GMPs, safety standards, and HACCP Best Operating Procedures Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety and environmental compliance Perform additional duties as assigned by the WWTP Lead Hand What you’ll need to be successful. High school diploma or equivalent (GED required) Experience in wastewater treatment operations, process line operations, or laboratory analysis (considered an asset) Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Excel and FactoryTalk systems Valid Class 1 Driver’s License Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively within a team Strong attention to detail with a sense of urgency Flexibility to work various shift schedules, including coverage for vacations and leaves About the team. Compensation Package: - Starting at 27.41 CAD hourly + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting.
