Job Title: Clinical Therapist Position Type: Full-time contract covering a temporary vacancy with an anticipated end date of March 20, 2027 Hours: 35 hours/week (including one evening per week) Location: North Bay, Ontario Reports To: Clinical Manager Position Summary The Clinical Therapist plays a vital role in delivering short-term, solution-focused, mental health, addiction and gender based violence counselling support services to individuals, couples, youth, and families. Services are provided through various programs and include assessments, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and group facilitation. The therapist integrates trauma-informed, harm reduction, and anti-oppressive practices while collaborating with internal teams and external community partners. This role also contributes to community awareness initiatives and the development of supportive resources. Key Responsibilities Therapeutic Services Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans. Deliver psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, families, and youth addressing concerns related to mental health, trauma, and abuse. Deliver addiction-focused counselling and support for concurrent disorders. Facilitate group counselling sessions and psychoeducational workshops. Apply trauma-informed, harm reduction, feminist, and culturally safe approaches. Manage crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions. Refer clients to community resources and advocate on their behalf. Other duties as assigned. Administrative Duties Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation. Schedule appointments and manage client accounts. Participate in peer reviews, supervision, and quality assurance processes. Collect client feedback and contribute to program development. Community Engagement Represent the agency professionally in community initiatives. Collaborate with external partners and deliver offsite services as needed. Participate in agency-wide activities and public education efforts. Qualifications Master’s degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, Psychotherapy, or a closely related field; or Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) with eligibility for and active registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). Registered and in good standing with an appropriate Ontario regulatory body relevant to the role and education (e.g., OCSWSSW for BSW/MSW‑prepared clinicians; CRPO for psychotherapy‑regulated clinicians). Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in mental health, addictions, or social services. Experience working with both adult and youth populations. Proven ability to utilize and interpret addiction assessment tools. Knowledge of brief therapy models, trauma-informed care, and concurrent disorders. Demonstrated commitment to anti-oppressive, client-directed, and culturally safe practices. Bilingualism (English/French) is preferred. Candidates with proficiency in both languages will be prioritized to better serve our diverse community. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic record systems. Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check. Requirements
