Summary of Position Reporting to the project Foreman, this position will assist the Pipelayer and crew members to perform all water and sewer activities in a safe and efficient manner. Role and Responsibilities Assist in aligning pipes during water main and sewer construction Load and unload tools, materials and equipment Mix, pour, cut and perform other concrete related tasks Operate industrial equipment and hand tools Perform manual and physically demanding labour duties as assigned Signal and direct equipment operators lift and transport plywood and air struts dig around pipe and/or utilities Roll pump hoses, operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers as directed Rig up chains and straps to transfer manhole material Qualifications, Training and Education Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unaided Class 5 Driver’s license Confined Space Entry/Monitor Fall Protection H2S Alive CSTS 2020 WHMIS 2015 Working Conditions A Pipelayer Helper is responsible for performing physically demanding work in different positions (kneeling, standing, etc.). They are working outdoors in dusty and underground environments through all kinds of weather
