What is the Opportunity? Reporting directly to the Manager, OD, the Talent Acquisition Consultant is the strategic face and voice of hiring at the City of Leduc. In this role, you will hold true ownership over full-cycle recruitment, comfortably navigating a portfolio of 10 to 15 active competitions while serving as a trusted advisor to hiring managers across every department. This role blends the thrill of active talent hunting with the creativity of modernizing how we recruit. On any given day, you will sit down with department leaders to decode their team needs, craft engaging job stories, guide candidates empathetically through selection, and ensure their transition into our culture on day one is seamless. Beyond active hires, you will lock arms with your OD teammates to collaborate on high-value initiatives—from elevating our onboarding frameworks and candidate touchpoints to maximizing the power of Workday. What will you do? In this dynamic, candidate-first role, you will keep our recruitment engine running with precision and heart. You will: Lead end-to-end recruitment strategies for a wide variety of municipal positions, from initial intake meetings and targeted candidate sourcing to final offer negotiations and onboarding logistics. Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, providing market insights, modern sourcing strategies, and expert guidance on consistent, transparent, fair and inclusive hiring. Champion an exceptional candidate experience, ensuring every applicant receives respectful and timely communication at every step of their journey. Collaborate actively on OD team projects, contributing your front-line recruitment perspective to modernize our onboarding steps, refine candidate touchpoints, and update talent templates. Leverage digital tools and creative sourcing channels—including social platforms, specialized networks, and proactive outreach—to attract high-performing candidates for unique roles. Utilize Workday (HRIS) to manage your competitions effortlessly, maintain defensible records, and analyze key recruitment metrics to continually sharpen our approach. Partner seamlessly with Employee Services teammates across the department to guarantee every new hire experiences a smooth, welcoming transition on day one. Who you are? You are a perceptive, organized, and authentic recruiter who understands that exceptional talent acquisition is equal parts strategy, relationship-building, and human connection. You bring: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive, full-cycle recruitment experience in a fast-paced environment where quality and momentum go hand-in-hand. An equivalent combination of relevant education, professional training, and recruitment experience may be considered. Exceptional organizational capabilities, with the proven ability to balance 10 to 15 active competitions while keeping candidates engaged and details rock-solid. Outstanding interpersonal and consulting skills, allowing you to build immediate credibility with leadership, challenge assumptions respectfully, and look far beyond a resume. A naturally collaborative mindset, thriving in an environment where team members share project loads, brainstorm new ideas, and continuously improve together. High digital comfort and analytical awareness, with experience navigating HRIS platforms and leveraging data to optimize recruitment workflows. Solid working knowledge of provincial employment standards, human rights frameworks, and modern, fair-hiring practices. A CPHR designation, experience in municipal government and with Workday HCM would be considered significant assets. What we Offer?
