This is a seasonal contract until the end of October. Our work is difficult but we get it done safely, with great peopleKey Duties & Responsibilities:Performing a wide variety of jobs using basic construction skills and/or operating some power equipmentCleaning, preparation, and maintenance of construction equipment or componentsParticipating in daily toolbox talk meetings, weekly safety meetings, Safety tours & CEDA’s ICE card programRequired to operate and maintain trailer-mounted centrifugal dewatering pumps & manage sump levelsRequired to operate screen tanks, dredges, & coagulant pumping systemsRequired to complete line patrol on various systems to ensure the integrity of linesRequired to work & drive in muddy/rough road conditionsRequired to manipulate valves, Rig In/Out diesel pumps, operate Dredges & Diesel /Electric pumps, skid steer, etc.Perform other activities to assist with process and machine operatorsMaintain Cleanliness of equipment & Housekeeping in immediate work areasMay be required to assist with minor repairs and maintenanceRole Specifications:2+ year’s labour experience is an assetValid class 5 driver’s licence is requiredPrior experience with pumps, centrifuge systems or dredging and dewatering is an assetExperience around heavy equipment (Loader, Dozer, Excavator, Backhoe) is an assetValid CSO certification (or combination of CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional or BSO)Standard First aid, fall arrest, training is beneficialExperience with heights and fall arrest ticket is an asset Valid Aerial Work Platform (AWP) / Manlift Ticket is an assetComfortable working on and around open bodies of waterAble to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol testSkills:You have the ability to prioritize and initiate innovative solutionsYou demonstrate strong organizational and problem solving skillsYou are safety focused when it comes to people and equipmentPrior experience working at heights with the use of special fall restraint equipmentComfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment (N-95 Dust Mask / North Half mask)Additional InformationThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
