This is a seasonal contract until the end of October. Our work is difficult but we get it done safely, with great peopleKey Duties and Responsibilities:Operate and monitor dredges, diesel/electric pumps, pipelines, valves, and associated equipment to support safe and efficient productionPerform dredging activities in accordance with project plans, safety requirements, environmental regulations, and operating proceduresOperate and maintain deposition areas, plant facilities, tank farms, screen tanks, sump levels, and fluid management systems to ensure efficient tailings handlingOperate boats, skid steers, and other heavy equipment, including excavators and loaders, as required to support dredging operationsConduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtimeClean, prepare, maintain, and rig in/out equipment and components to support daily operationsAssist process and machine operators, as well as other project personnel, with operational activities as requiredMaintain accurate production, maintenance, and operational recordsParticipate in daily toolbox talks, weekly safety meetings, hazard assessments, safety tours, incident prevention initiatives, and CEDA's ICE Card programMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment through effective housekeeping practicesWork collaboratively with supervisors and project teams to achieve production and operational objectivesRole Specifications:Prior experience with pumps, centrifuge systems or dredging and dewateringProduction dredging experience is an assetValid Class 5 licence with with no than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is requiredValid CSO certification (or combination of CSTS-09 and OSSA Regional or BSO)Valid Pleasure Craft operator card is desirableMarine Emergency Duties (A1 or A3) licence is an assetSmall Vessel Operator (SVOP) training is an assetAble to provide a negative pre-employment alcohol and drug test;Able to work in confined space or at heights with the use of fall restraint equipment is an assetSkillsYou know how to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a high level of integrity when it comes to safety You are comfortable being on and around open bodies of waterYou are comfortable working outdoors is harsh weather conditionsYou are able to lift 50lbs on a regular basisYou demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skillsYou possess an uncompromising commitment to health and safety at all timesAdditional InformationThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
