THE ROLE As an Arena Operator/Outdoor Facility Maintainer with Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services, you will be part of a team proud to provide safe, quality arena and outdoor sports facilities to members of the Canadian Armed Forces community. You will take satisfaction seeing them at play and enjoying the facilities and get to experience the thrill of the cheering fans as you drive the Zamboni down the ice surface. Daily, you will ensure the ice rink is maintained, dressing rooms are ready and equipment is organized and in proper working order. You will ensure outdoor facilities and sports fields are maintained and safe to use such as soccer fields, ball diamond, volleyball court, splash park, playground, etc. You will greet visitors, manage access to the facility and fields and answer customer inquiries. You will patrol the facility to ensure rules and regulations are being followed and equipment and facilities are safe for all those that visit. Qualifications Needed Education, Certifications and Licenses An acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification Valid Driver’s Licence (Province) Recreation Facilities Association Certified Ice Technician (Province) Experience In operating and maintaining ice rink and outdoor sports facilities equipment In resource administration Competencies Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
