Job summary

Title:Night Auditor Reports to:Front Desk Manager Location:18 Cabot Lane, Inverness, NS, B0E 1N0 Job Type:Full-time Seasonal Built by dreamers, for dreamers. The Night Auditor is a key member of the Guest Services team and responsible for the overnight operations of the Lodge, verifying the accuracy of guest accounts, balancing charges and revenues, as well as assisting with all aspects of guest services. Core Accountabilities Create 100% satisfaction by providing fast and friendly genuine hospitality and by exceeding guest expectations Make reservations over the phone, via email and in person and ensure all aspects of the reservation procedure are followed Create and maintain reservation records and ensure all aspects of the room reservation procedure are followed, including bookings, confirmations and cancellation policies Greet and engage guests in a friendly and professional manner according to Cabot Links’ standards Anticipate and address guest’s service needs, complaints and/or concerns Post nightly transactions Monitor in house guest accounts nightly and process additional authorizations once credit limits are exceeded Ensuring all Front Desk floats are balanced at the beginning and end of your shift Perform check-ins and check-outs of guests daily Verify revenue from all sources is accurately balanced, follow up on any discrepancies Produce daily reports for departments and department heads Compile and run statistical reports for all departments and transfer information to our Accounting department Answer the telephone in a timely and professional manner Demonstrate a knowledge of lodging room categories, room rates, packages, promotions and other general product knowledge necessary to perform daily duties Process cancellations and modifications Process advance deposits on reservations Listen to guest’s complaints, concerns and emergencies and resolve their issue in a timely manner Promote a safe working environment Track future room availabilities on the basis of reservations Handle daily correspondence and respond to inquiries via email, telephone and social media Ensure that files are kept up to date Provide information on Cabot resort services and accommodations and assist in travel arrangements as required Other duties as assigned by management Qualifications Experience in Guest Services, with a strong knowledge of Inverness and surrounding areas Experience in Night Audit with an accounting background is an asset Excellent computer skills, experience using reservations systems an asset Exceptional interpersonal skills to enhance the service standards throughout the operation Highly organized, detail oriented and able to prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent telephone manner A team player and a self-starter, yet able to work independently within Cabot Links’ standards Computer literacy with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office College or University degree preferred in Hospitality/Customer Service or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a guest services role Physical Demands Ability to remain alert and display strong attention to detail during overnight shifts Ability to spend long hours walking, sitting, and standing during duties Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move luggage and objects up to 50 lbs
