Promoting the scholarly study of Jewish history and culture
The British and Irish Association for Jewish Studies (BIAJS) was founded in 1975 as a learned society and professional organization on a non-profit-making basis. Its aims are to nurture, cultivate and advance the teaching and research in Jewish culture and history in all its aspects within Higher Education in the British Isles. IAJS initiates and supports research and publication in the field of Jewish Studies.

The post-holder will teach undergraduate and postgraduate students and conduct active research leading to academic publications. They will also contribute to the administration of the Department and University and engage in public outreach.
