Under the supervision of the Manager, Retail Operations, they will help setup and operate booths at various community and cultural events, engage with customers, process sales, monitor and manage inventory, and represent the Foundation brand in a positive and professional manner. Representing the Foundation at events is a unique opportunity to raise funds in support of our operations, increase awareness of our product offerings, build goodwill, and generate future sales opportunities. A significant part of the role will be supporting with the Lonsdale Shipyards Christmas Night Market, which will require availability through November 26 to December 25, 2026, including evening and weekend shifts. Responsibilities: The Event Ambassador will perform the following duties: Events Set up, staff, and tear down BC Parks Foundation booths at scheduled markets, festivals, and other events Represent BC Parks Foundation positively and professionally Welcome customers and provide exceptional customer service Educate customers about BC Parks Foundation merchandise and the online store Share information with visitors and answer questions about our mission and programs Efficiently and accurately process retail merchandise sales, collecting payments via cash, debit or credit Ensure the booth is attractively presented, well stocked and organized Track inventory during events and communicate replenishment needs Complete end-of-day closing and event wrap-up tasks Assist with transporting event materials and merchandise, as required Complete post-event unpacking, organization, sales analysis, feedback tracking, and reporting Follow safety regulations, including proper lifting procedures and timely reporting of all incidents Perform other event-related duties as assigned Retail Operations, Logistics and Inventory Coordinate with the Manager, Retail Operations on stock level and replenishment needs Help manage inventory before and after events Pack and dispatch online orders, including courier handling and printing labels Assist with receiving, organizing, and moving retail merchandise Help prepare merchandise and materials for upcoming events Support general retail operations as required Administration and Coordination Assist with required weekly forms, permits, security access, and event documentation Help respond to online customer questions, claims, and custom requests Support the Retail team with general preparation and follow-up duties Requirements: Strong customer service and verbal communication skills Previous retail or customer-facing experience is preferred, but not required Ability to quickly perform basic math and accurately handle transactions Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proactive approach to work, with the ability to identify needs and take action Positive, friendly and approachable personality Comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable event environment, adapting when schedules, priorities or event requirements change Ability to lift occasionally, kneel, squat, move boxes of product, and stand for extended periods Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Flexible availability, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holiday periods Must be based in the Greater Vancouver area and able to commute to event and office locations A driver’s license and access to a vehicle is an asset Fluency in a second language will be an asset Work Environment The role will be based in office or at events During periods with fewer scheduled events, there may occasionally be an opportunity to work from home. However, remote work is not guaranteed and the successful candidates should expect to work primarily in person Will require working outdoors (rain, wind or shine!) Requires weekend and evening work (markets may run to 10:30pm) A uniform will be provided Shift Schedules: We are hiring (2) temporary positions working approximately 30-35 hours per week starting August 31, 2026 through to January 15, 2027. The successful candidates must be available for work during the Shipyards Christmas Market from November 26 to December 25, 2026.
