As a Security Operations Analyst, your real-world SOC experience will directly shape how AI models reason through threats, triage alerts, and respond to incidents — making AI smarter and safer for the entire industry. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for experienced security professionals who want to put their expertise to work on something genuinely impactful. Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Analyze realistic SOC incident and alert scenarios, identifying what's happening and why it matters Classify alert severity, determine root causes, and recommend appropriate response actions Review detection logic and investigation workflows for accuracy and real-world alignment Evaluate AI-generated security outputs and flag gaps between AI reasoning and how analysts actually work Provide structured feedback that helps AI systems better mirror professional threat detection and response Who You Are 2+ years of hands-on experience in SOC, incident response, or security operations roles Familiar with SIEM platforms, alert triage workflows, and investigation methodologies Skilled at separating true security signals from background noise and false positives Able to clearly articulate your reasoning and document findings in structured formats Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in an async environment Nice to Have Experience with threat hunting, digital forensics, or red/blue team operations Familiarity with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, or similar Prior exposure to AI evaluation or data annotation workflows Why Join Us Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside top security and AI research teams Fully remote and asynchronous — work on your schedule, from anywhere Freelance autonomy with the potential for ongoing contract extension Contribute meaningful expertise that shapes how AI handles real-world cybersecurity challenges Be part of a global community of domain experts doing work that actually matters
What you’ll do

Requirements
Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in SOC or security operations roles and be familiar with SIEM platforms and alert triage workflows. Skills in distinguishing true security signals from false positives and the ability to document findings are essential.
