Job Description AECOM is currently seeking a Field Technician Intern for a new position based in our Sudbury, ON office. This is a temporary position expected to last approximately 4 months. Job Responsibilities Include: Provides basic support in the areas of construction administration and inspection activities in support of projects. Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating field survey equipment, reading and interpreting contract documents, inspecting construction installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation on a daily basis when on a construction site. Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties. Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records. General understanding of procedures, company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Performs routine tasks while working under close supervision. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Enrolled in and working towards a Civil Engineering Technician/Technology diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years of working experience in a field role An understanding of road construction, bridges, stormwater, pumping stations, water distribution systems and/or wastewater collection systems is preferred but not mandatory. Accuracy with details is essential. Ability to meticulously review project documentation, drawings, and specifications to support inspections. Ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently and creatively in the field. Basic proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to assist with documentation, reporting, and data management. Engineering students or individuals with a strong interest in engineering are preferred. Comfortable in working independently in both an office and field environment. Possession of a valid driver’s license in Ontario and access to a vehicle. Additional Information Relocation is not available for this position. Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position. What you’ll do

Provide basic support for construction administration and inspection activities to ensure compliance with specifications and codes. Maintain daily field inspection records and assist with engineering calculations and survey equipment operation.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in a Civil Engineering Technician/Technology diploma program and possess a valid Ontario driver's license with vehicle access. Preferred candidates have 2+ years of field experience and knowledge of water and road infrastructure.
