An exciting opportunity to work on a pan-Canadian project!

The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) is a voluntary umbrella organization of Canada's 10 provincial and 3 territorial securities regulators. Its objective is to improve, coordinate and harmonize regulation of the Canadian capital markets. The CSA members have initiated a wide-scale project called NSRP (National Systems Renewal Program) to replace a number of national systems with a single, intuitive and secure filing system for regulators and market participants.

Reporting to the CSA NSRP Director, the NRSP Junior Project Control Officer ensures effective management of the program's daily activities. The NRSP Junior Project Control Officer manages overall program risks, issues and actions across multiple workstreams, ensuring that Project Managers and other program personnel complete the action plan according to the agreed-upon timeline; participates in updates to the overall integrated schedule between internal and vendor work packages; takes part in monthly financial accruals; participates in the creation and optimization of program processes (change requests, status reports, etc.) and templates; helps track vendor deliverables; and maintains the NSRP document repositories, ensuring that all artifacts are accounted for and stored in the correct location.

The National Systems Renewal Program (NSRP) is a CSA initiative to replace CSA national systems (the System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval (SEDAR), the National Cease Trade Order Database, the Disciplined List, the System for Electronic Disclosure by Insiders, the National Registration Database and the National Registration Search) with a more centralized CSA IT system (the Renewed System). All CSA members are participating in the NSRP.

Weekly activities will include

• In collaboration with the Senior Project Manager, tracking and logging the delivery of vendor deliverables. Escalating early warning signs and deviations from the action plan to the Senior Project Manager
• Maintaining decision, issue and risk logs across the program while following up with all stakeholders to ensure on-time completion of the action plan
• Participating in the creation of program dashboards, meeting minutes, program files, correspondence, etc.
• Creating, maintaining and administering program documentation repositories through SharePoint while ensuring all artifacts are accounted for and stored in the correct location
• Assisting in obtaining and providing monthly financial accruals across the program while also helping to validate financial forecasts
• Participating in the creation and optimization of new program processes to achieve efficiencies (e.g., change request process, status reports, etc.)
• Overseeing day-to-day management of the program by assisting external vendors in delivering specific invoices/materials under the various vendor contracts
• Helping to develop recommendations for portfolio management tools to automate project dashboard reporting and issue and risk tracking and their integration with other collaboration tools

Minimum requirements

• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in business and information technology
• AND
• Knowledge and 3 years of work experience in project management
• Experience in managing and following up with individuals across different organizational levels
• Experience as a project control officer, an asset
• Good understanding of SharePoint and records management
• Solid experience with the Microsoft suite of products, especially Excel
• Experience with MS Project, an asset
