The Volunteer’s Role

The project "The role of market-driven innovations to implement and scale up WASH solutions", aims to link market forces with rural organizations in the selected territories so that these organizations can subsequently contribute to the improvement and sustainability of rural water and sanitation solutions in Peru (Ayacucho) and Colombia (Caloto). The project has a duration of 4 years and is currently in its second year of implementation.

For the proper development of this project, a clear monitoring plan must be defined, with rigorously structured indicators of results, products and activities, which will allow reporting on the progress of the project and generate early warnings, consolidating the interventions carried out in Peru and Colombia. In addition, the volunteer is required to provide guidelines for the collection of information, manage the databases collected and consolidate the information collected by both countries.

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Design a monitoring and evaluation plan for the project, considering qualitative and quantitative information.
  • Define results, product and activity indicator sheets according to the project's Logical Framework.
  • Construct data collection instruments that account for the indicators according to formulas established in easy-to-use tools, Google forms, Kobo Collect or others
  • Provide guidelines for the correct collection of information in Colombia and Peru and support the collection process if possible.
  • Prepare progress reports on the results found

  • At least 2 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation of development projects.

  • Experience in fieldwork with communities

SHARE aims to improve the economic and/or social well-being of the poorest, most marginalized and vulnerable people, particularly women and girls, in developing countries, with a view to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition to increasing engagement of Canadians in international development and key global issues, this project will aim to increase the performance of country partners to deliver more inclusive, innovative and environmentally sustainable development initiatives that advance gender equality, in support of the action areas of Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy.
