The Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT) is a highly specialized adjudicative tribunal that hears appeals of final decisions of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. The WSIAT is currently seeking a highly motivated, experienced IT professional to join the team as an Infrastructure Architect. In this role you will function as a subject matter technology expert and a key point of contact for the delivery of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal's on premise and cloud I&IT infrastructure. The salary range for this position is $79,797- $115,982 per annum.

What can I expect to do in this role?

Working under the direction of the Manager, Cloud Infrastructure and working collaboratively with the I&IT teams, the Infrastructure Architect will:

• Works effectively with the Tribunal's cloud infrastructure service providers, other I&IT colleagues and Tribunal users to deliver end-to-end support and resolution of infrastructure related service issues and failures

• Consults and advises I&IT colleagues on matters related to the Tribunal's I&IT infrastructure projects and initiatives including service planning, change management and migration planning, I&IT training activities, I&IT business applications solutions development, and security solutions development

• Designs, develops and delivers an appropriate mix of Cloud-based infrastructure solutions (e.g. Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, SaaS infrastructure platforms) and services in support of the Tribunal's internal and client-facing technology initiatives

• Implements the transformation of the on-premise I&IT infrastructure and security control to the cloud infrastructure providers

• Oversees the provision of a variety of cloud infrastructure environments to facilitate software application development, testing, training and production, including the build-out and provisioning of DEV, QA, UAT and PRD environments as well as POC/Sandbox and Demo environments as needed

• Supports a high degree of infrastructure security through the deployment of hardened firewall devices, a DMZ network zone that isolates the Tribunal's public facing servers and protects access from the outside world to internal networks, servers and data

• Manages/administers a centralized commercial antivirus solution to identify and stop threats before causing damage to the Tribunals I&IT infrastructure and information assets

• Provides operational support for the Tribunal's computer room facilities including the required environmental controls, security controls and uninterruptable power supplies

• Contributes technical knowledge and experience in I&IT infrastructure to the development of the overall I&IT technology roadmap and associated risk management plans How do I qualify? Knowledge and Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of I&IT cloud-based technology, standards and applications

• Knowledge of migrating legacy office productivity solutions into cloud based integrated solutions

• Knowledge of hybrid cloud infrastructures, the selection of cloud providers, application migration to the cloud, cloud-first strategies, cloud computing cost control, estimating costs for transition/migration to the cloud, and managing total cost of ownership cost models for cloud services

Communication, Interpersonal and Leadership Skills:

• Effective communications skills to provide specialized technical advice and direction to IT staff

• Written communication skills to prepare reports, briefing notes and papers on the Tribunal's I&IT systems and services

Organizational and Analytical Skills:

• Research and analytical skills to evaluate existing and emerging trends in I&IT infrastructure

• Analyzes service agreements to understand and the scope of contractual commitments between the Tribunal and I&IT infrastructure service providers
