The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies (LA&PS) is the largest Faculty at York University with over 24,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and almost 100 programs delivered through 25 Departments, Schools and Colleges, plus the IBM Markham Learning Site. Administrative support staff play a key role in supporting College leadership, the mandate of the College, and its student body.
The Administrative Assistant is a key role in the Colleges as it is primarily responsible for providing administrative, finance, communications, website maintenance, and front desk support to the Colleges overall, and student engagement initiatives, programs and events. Reporting to the Manager, Student Engagement, LA&PS Colleges, the SE&OAA will be working with colleagues within the LA&PS Colleges, student engagement team, across the Faculty and campus in support of the day-to-day office administration and functions. The Administrative Assistant will also support the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies and York University, and contribute to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration and continuous improvement, embraces diversity and fosters inclusion.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
College Diploma in Office Administration or a related field, or an equivalent of 2 years recent.
Minimum two (2) years' recent and related client/customer service, finance support, administrative, communications, event coordination, and budget reconciliation experience. Additional experience required in coordination of administrative processes, organizing multiple complex electronic schedules, and webpage. Working in a fast-paced environment and in a post-secondary institution and experience in social media platforms would be an asset.
