Main accountabilities include:
• Must be able to clearly communicate human resources policies, procedures, laws, and
company programs.
• Provides internal customer service to management and employees for day-to-day
needs.
• Provide confidential administrative support to the Management and Supervisors.
• Works with the GM, YYZ and local HR Regional Manager to ensure that all related
deliverable items are handled and executed on time.
• Maintain employee files to the standards required by the Menzies 5 Star Audit program.
• Support the management team in arranging and documenting all communications to
employees.
• Provides guidance and direction to local management on labour relations and
employee relations matters.
• Deal with labor relations grievance procedures and involve Corporate HR as required.
• Oversees and process all new hires, terminations, changes to hours and salary or job
title changes, complete necessary paperwork, update employee database, and issue
employment contracts.
• Ensure the smooth flow of processes to increase service delivery and value.
• Coordinates with the third-party consultant and internal management on all workrelated claims in accordance with WSIB legislation; compile, analyze, interpret and
report accidents and injuries in the workplace; liaison with third party vendor to ensure
workers return to work, minimizing lost time.
• Ensures tasks are performed in accordance with the Company and Airlines specific
procedures and policies.
• Required to attend the mandatory training imposed by the Company and Airlines as per job role.
• Issue and maintain required reports when required.
• Other duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, CHRP designation, or working toward same.
• 2 to 3 years’ progressive experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of Canada Labour Code
• Experience with Federally regulated employers preferred.
• Experience in the interpretation of collective agreements, related regulations, and laws,
demonstrated experience in related human resources functions.
• Hands on self-starter able to work using initiative and without supervision.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and administrative skills and is detail oriented.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at different
levels and from different geographical and ethnic cultures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office and UltiPro HRIS.
Additional requirements:
• Must be Canadian citizen, legal resident or hold the requisite authority to work in
Canada and have a valid G license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain all required security clearances.
• When required must be able to lift to 35 lbs.
