Position details: Full-time, 28-month term position (Jan 2020 through April 2022, with possibility longer-term extension)
Compensation: The CCPA is a unionized workplace with a salary grid, generous holidays, pension plan, and employer-paid comprehensive extended health benefits beginning after 3 months. Starting salary for this position is $63,000 to $68,000/year depending on experience (salary rises to $78,000 to $83,000/year in increments over the 28-month employment term).

ABOUT THIS JOB
The CCPA-BC Office seeks a Project Manager & Grants Officer who will have responsibility for coordination and administration of the Corporate Mapping Project (funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada - SSHRC - through its partnership grant program), and to develop other grants from SSHRC and private foundations.
The Corporate Mapping Project is a seven-year research and public engagement initiative currently in its fifth year of work. The CMP is jointly led by the CCPA-BC, University of Victoria, Parkland Institute and CCPA Saskatchewan Office. The Project Manager is employed by CCPA-BC and works at our Vancouver office. The position works closely with and supports the CMP Co-Directors (CCPA-BC Director Shannon Daub and University of Victoria Professor Bill Carroll), the project steering committee and the larger team of academic researchers and community partners involved.
We are looking for a highly competent person with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail who shares our commitment to social justice and enjoys working with large teams of people.
Coordinate CMP activities, meetings and events (including a major conference in May 2020).
Liaise with CMP team members to support research projects, funding arrangements, publishing plans, etc.
Administer CMP SSHRC grant funds in conjunction with the University of Victoria; track and monitor all project expenses, handle invoices, provide financial reporting for the project, ensure compliance with SSHRC rules and policies.
Arrange student placements, contracts and supervision plans.
Track all CMP project activities and write regular activity reports; develop final report to SSHRC when the project wraps up.
Provide ongoing project and administrative support to the CMP Co-Directors and steering committee.
Collaborate with CCPA-BC communications staff and counterparts at CMP partner organizations to support the publication of CMP research and other dissemination and engagement plans.
Identify additional grant prospects, develop proposals and administer grants, both for CMP and other CCPA-BC areas of work.
This job is a 28-month term position with a steep learning curve -- you must be able to hit the ground running and learn quickly. You have:
Three to five years of directly relevant experience, ideally in the non-profit or academic sectors. A demonstrated track record supporting team-based, partnership-based or other complex projects is an asset.
Experience with SSHRC grants is desired, but we welcome applications from skilled project managers who have secured and overseen other types of grants.
Superb organizational, project management and administrative skills, including experience developing and administering budgets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write effectively for different types of funders and to articulate the CCPA's role and impact.
Comfort working in a Mac environment and ability to learn new apps and computer skills quickly. High degree of facility with MS Excel is required. Experience with digital communications platforms (Wordpress and Nationbuilder in particular) is an asset.
