Summary E Construction, a division of N.P.A., is hiring a Class 1 Driver for the 2026 construction season! Key Responsibilities Operate a variety of Class 1 trucks, including but not limited to, the Tandem, Tri-Dump, End-Dump, Side-Dump, Clam-Dump, Belly-Dump and Live Bottom Trucks and equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Perform pre-and post-trip inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Ensure required paperwork, including trip logs and inspection reports are accurately completed and submitted. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment used is properly positioned. Ensure proper loading of asphalt and aggregates, while minimizing segregation, which can adversely affect the quality of the roads surface. Verify the type and weight of the materials being hauled. Move hand and foot controls to jerk truck forward and backwards to loosen and dump material adhering to body. Ensure the on-time delivery of asphalt, aggregates and other road construction materials, reducing bottlenecks in the construction process. Continuously feed hot mix asphalt into the paver through a direct discharge method. Hose, shovel or take out the truck box to remove debris, when necessary. Ensure all vehicle documents and applicable permits are valid and present in the vehicle. Perform minor vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical issues that require attention. Represent the company professionally when driving and interacting with members of the public. Perform housekeeping duties to ensure truck is kept in a tidy manner. Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture. Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics. Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics. Qualifications | Requirements High school diploma, preferred. Class 1 Drivers License is required. Experience within the road construction industry considered an asset Experience moving construction equipment would be an asset. Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience operating a variety of truck styles. Working Conditions Schedule of Monday - Saturday, up to 12 hours per day (weather dependent). Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation. Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis. Use of Personal Protective Equipment is required. Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended. Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements. What's In It For You?
