The Administrative Services Clerk serves as the primary point of contact for the public at Town Hall, providing administrative support and accounts receivable assistance. Responsibilities include processing payments, maintaining records, managing correspondence, and supporting municipal programs and services.
The Administrative Services Clerk is a key member of the Administration team, serving as the first point of contact for residents, businesses, and visitors at the Town Hall. Working under the direction of the Town Manager/Clerk, this position provides exceptional service, administrative support, and accounts receivable assistance while helping the public access a wide range of municipal services. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities while responding to inquiries, processing payments, preparing deposits, maintaining records, and supporting municipal programs and events. Key responsibilities include assisting with permits and licences, monitoring correspondence, working with residential and business accounts, supporting tax and revenue collection processes, and providing backup coverage for accounts receivable functions. We are looking for a highly organized and customer-focused professional with strong communication skills, excellent computer proficiency, sound administrative knowledge, and the ability to work effectively with the public. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and tact. Qualifications: Diploma in Business Administration (Executive or General), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong administrative, customer service, and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business software. Ability to multitask, solve problems, and work collaboratively in a team environment. This is a temporary position created to backfill an employee who is on a temporary transfer covering a maternity leave. As a result, the exact term of employment cannot be determined. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30 pm to 4:30 pm, with an hour lunch break (35 hours per week). Compensation is provided in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Town and CUPE Local 1349. The deadline for applications is October 4, 2026.
