Work Location: AgeCare Shawnee Adress: 50 Shawnee St SW, Calgary, AB T2Y 1E5 Employment Type: Temporary Part time to Full Time Expected End Date: 2027 May The Opportunity: The Occupational Therapist assesses, plans, implements and evaluates occupational therapy directed towards residents’ restoration/maintenance of an optimal level of independence, prevention of further disability and achievement of purposeful engagement within their environment. Key Responsibilities: • Assesses and reassesses residents to identify their issues/challenges and to determine rehabilitation needs • Establishes resident’s goals, develops and documents individual care and treatment plans • Maintains on-going communication with other members of the multidisciplinary team in order to maintain a consistent care program for the residents • Maintains residents’ statistics • Develops reviews and updates policies and procedures for the Rehabilitation Department • May be assigned to orient or supervise employees or volunteers • Ensures that equipment and conditions within the department are conducive to a safe working environment of residents and staff Qualifications: • Graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy • Must be eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and a registered member of the Alberta Association of Registered Occupational Therapists • AADL Authorizer status is an asset • Experience with MDS and/or RAI • Occupational Therapy experience in long term care preferred • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Demonstrates a caring, empathetic attitude in a professional, mature manner • Good organizational and time management skills If you’re motivated by the privilege of serving our seniors with dignity, respect and compassion, come join us!

Requirements
Candidates must be graduates of an approved Occupational Therapy school and eligible for membership with the Canadian and Alberta Associations of Registered Occupational Therapists. Experience with MDS/RAI and long-term care settings is preferred.
