Comox Valley Schools (SD71) is a positive, progressive and growing school district situated on the east coast of Vancouver Island on the traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation. Located within the Valley are the municipalities we serve, City of Courtenay, the Town of Comox, Village of Cumberland and the Regional District; each providing their own unique services and community cultures. Teach upper intermediate students at Cumberland Community School in a temporary, part-time position. Support student learning through inclusive, personalized teaching and collaboration with colleagues, families, and community partners.

Prepare custodial schedules, assign tasks, manage cleaning supplies and equipment, and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the school building and its grounds. Perform routine cleaning and minor repairs, move furniture and equipment, and coordinate with school administrators and custodial staff.

Clean and maintain school surfaces, floors, washrooms, windows, and fixtures using appropriate cleaning methods and tools. Dispose of waste, move furniture, report building or fixture issues, and follow safe work procedures while cooperating with school staff.

The custodian is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining all surfaces, floors, and washrooms within the school. Additional duties include waste disposal, replacing light bulbs, and reporting building failures to the Senior Custodian.
